I have worked for many years at the most amazing 5 star destination spa and resort.
Which means I have been exposed to so many different products and retail lines over the years. And there are some truly amazing products out there and I’ll feature my favorites in another post.
However, when I was diagnosed with cancer I became so much more aware of what I was putting on my skin and I was more reluctant to use a lot of chemical-laden products.
I decided to make it my mission to find a regime that was really beneficial to my skin but was not full of the “bad stuff”, you know, the usual culprits, parabens, synthetic colors, phthalates, triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate, formaldehyde, toluene, propylene glycol.
The line that I have used and loved for years and years is Jane Iredale. Her products are amazing you will see I do use a few of them in my morning regime. They do last for a while so even though they are a slightly higher price point, you won’t have to buy them that often.
So let’s get started.

I am obsessed with this product! You can read more about facial oils HERE and the different benefits of each one.
But I honestly think Kalahari Oil (or Ootanga Oil / Watermelon Seed Oil as it is sometimes known) is perfect for mature skin. Watermelons from the Kalahari are rich in Omega 3, 6 and 9 Fatty Acids.
Ultimately Kalahari Oil is:
An antioxidant (protects your skin from free radicals that cause aging)
Non-Comedogenic (does NOT cause blocked pores, it actually helps to remove toxins from the pore)
Restorative (restores the elasticity of mature skin by strengthening skin at the cellular level and this helps prevent wrinkles.
The goal is to get dewy, glowy skin and using Kalahari Oil is the best product to this.
I love love love this blush. I think you have to be so careful when you are Over 40 not to look too “clown like” and this blush goes on so smoothly and is not heavy at all. It finishes beautifully and naturally.
Being a Jane Iredale product, it is free from chemical dyes and potentially irritating ingredients.
AND you can use it on your eyes too! It’s a bonus product.
The very best way to apply this blush is with the Jane Iredale Fan Brush which I feature below.
It truly makes a difference in how the application goes on.
I searched and searched for a great BB Cream.
BB stands for Blemish Balm and it is supposed to cover up blemishes so it’s lovely to cover up dark spots and blemishes.
Given that I’ve had a few brushes with Basal Cell Carcinoma (I literally grew up on the beach and suntanned my little heart out) I always want to be sure I am wearing SPF but I don’t want to layer up with actual sunscreen.
That’s why this product is so lovely as it is a combination of brightening enzymes and SPF with a tinted moisturizer.
I have never broken out using this product.
These colors are so beautiful and neutral.
There are 5 different colors: Almond, Oyster, Cappuccini, Dark Suede, Charcoal
The Oyster color can also be used as a highlighter on your cheeks.
It’s another Jane Iredale product, I really do love them!
This is an absolute must to apply blusher lightly and perfectly.
Through my day job at the Spa I was able to try Juice Beauty products and I loved the mascara. I have very sensitive eyes and I hate getting anything in them that I know is going to irritate them.
This is simply the best pressed powder!
I use this over my BB cream and it makes my skin look amazing. It applies evenly and easily and is highly pigmented.
I love it because it is paraben-free; sulfate-free; phthalate-free; gluten-free and oil free.
Final Jane Iredale product that I just love, love, love.
I get so many compliments on my lip color when I wear this, it’s such a perfect pink, and (I think) it has some sort of magical lip plumping something something!!!!
It’s just divine, trust me!
So that’s it, really, really simple and easy but with products that take care and protect your skin.
